's an incomplete pass. so we have these two storms that have to merge right off the coast of new york city. if it happens, we have quite an historic event that's going on. here's where the snow is right now. milwaukee and the like. here's where the rain is. this is the big rainmaker for the southeast. could be inches in places that have quite a bit of rain already. here goes the rain up the east coast. red spots there. that's 6 to 10 inches of rainfall along the northeast along the atlantic coast from bloomington up to parts of delaware. but here's where it gets interesting. when that rain gets up here where the cold air will be, that's where the connection has to happen. that's where the storm is going to spin. that's why there's a blizzard watch already. this is 36 hours before this snow even starts. that's why i'm so wishy washy. i can't say 1 to 12 because that's where the computers are. computers for new york city could be 1 inch with mostly rain. i'm going to show you one that will scare you. boston on this computer, 21 inches of snow. i think that's a pretty good number, especially

morning as well, around 41 miles per hour in boston and 36 miles per hour in new york city so that's going to make those temperatures feel even colder than it feels right now. there's the snow coming down east maine and into the boston area and providence. heading to this hour, heavy snow at times. likely will see half a foot in boston accumulating. a lot will be blowing around, and then off the coast of the carolinas you can see the moisture working its way off the coastline itself, but behind that we're dealing with winter weather conditions, winter weather advisory in place here through 10:00. watch for black ice. once again, it's really hard to see as you come over the roadways there, and it makes it very slick and do be expecting to see some of that on bridges and overpasses, specifically. here's the current windchill in florida. can you believe this? this is the sunshine state and we're talking and feeling like 26 degrees in gainesville and 24 in jacksonville is what it feels like right now and even in south florida, we're talking temperatures here in the mid-30s in sarasota and ft.

to be a huge relief when they get here. the city of mobile is also going to have medical personnel here available for them to perform any sort of quick examinations to provide them with medical assistance if anybody needs that when they get off the ship. you can bet -- it's not much to look at here, this is a small little facility that was built to handle cruise ships to facilitate people getting off the ships on to buses, on to whatever destination they have. but you can bet when they get here, this is going to look like paradise to those 31 passengers and the crew can't be in good shape either. >> i can only imagine, david. you know, hot shower goes a long way. but i imagine they also too want more compensation. is carnival saying, look, they're going to give them any money, anything else for this horrific ordeal they've been going through for four days? >> reporter: well, first of all, they're not going to have to pay for this trip, wow, yeah. and then after that, carnival is saying that they will provide them with a credit for another cruise should they decide they want to try this

siberian village is usually a quiet place. 1,000 people living just south of the city of chelyabinsk, but on friday morning, they were shocked by what they saw. an intense light followed by a trail of smoke across the sky. kindergarten worker says the 20 children ran to the windows when they saw the light, but she felt something was wrong and moved them away. she said she was still facing the windows when the meteor's shock wave hit. as the windows blew in, flying glass cut her face and hands. she said she didn't notice because she was worried about the children. most were safe, but terrified. but one was bleeding heavily. 3-year-old sasha suffered deep cuts to her head and face. her mother ran to the kindergarten after she heard the blast. i was shaking, she says. i grabbed her and started to calm her down. a lot of kids were crying, too. cassina was also in the room that morning. she wasn't hurt physically by the blast, but her mother says she's traumatized. she's been too afraid to stand next to windows and she keeps asking if the glass is going to break again. katerina says she u

because it happened very quickly without a single fire shot. we know what happened next. out into the city they went. this is where it gets quite fascinating. once they came out of the airport, somewhere down around here, look at all of the art rarelies that they could have gone to. if you think about it, just driving 30 miles per hour in five minutes they could have been beyond that radius in almost any direction, wolf. it's been an extraordinary story of how they were organized, the whole thing from beginning to end took about 11 minutes and then they were gone without a trace. they found a burned out vehicle that they think is connected to this but they don't know if it was the direction they went or anything else. the bottom line is, the diamonds are gone. if you want a sense of what $50 million in diamonds looks like, take a look at this. this bag has half a million small diamonds in it. if you want to have $50 million worth of diamonds, what you have to have is that many bags full of diamonds like that. so it's an extraordinary robbery but getting rid of it, wolf, will be the real ch

battery fires on dreamliner. >>> to a disturbing story out of kansas city, missouri, a teenager is removed from his home after being found hand cuffed in the base. . he told police he'd been hand cuffed since september. now the teen's father, brother and older stepmother are being questioned. casey wian is live. >> reporter: good morning, carol. this is where it happened in this home right behind me. you can see there's a small window there nearly at ground level and that's where police say that 17-year-old boy was handcuffed to a steel support pole, basically handcuffed nearly around the clock since september. the boy told police according to the police report that he was let off of his handcuffs about three times a day for meals and to go to the bathroom. other than that, he was chained inside that basement four months. the father pulled him out of school back in september. police say that the boy appeared very, very fragile, very, very malnourished, his cheeks were sucked in, and they said that he had sort of a desperate, vacant look in his eyes. when police went downstairs into that ba

of law enforcement. local, city, state, federal involved here. you have been at the press conferences all day. you are coming from the san bernardino sheriffs office. let's play a little sound from cindy bachman at one of the press conferences. here it is. >> we had reason to believe it was christopher dorner because he victims of the car theft said the suspect that stole their car looked like him and his actions after stealing the vehicle led us to believe even stronger that it was him. we have not confirmed that it is him. >> you have to remember, this is a very confusing situation. a lot of different law enforcement involved. this happened randomly. they hadn't been tailing this suspect. what happened essentially in short hand format is they got a report from people who had their pickup truck hijacked. the people who were driving the vehicle said they identified the man who did it as christopher dorner, the excop, the subject of this manhunt. that of course triggered the suspicion of wildlife and game officers who were there. they wound up getting in to a fire fight with this suspect.
